Q.
How can I find socially responsible private equity or venture capital funds?

A.

In Preqin:

  1. Click on the Search For tab in the menu bar.
  2. Click on Funds.
  3. Select ESG. 

In Capital IQ:

  1. Screen for Companies.
  2. Select Investment Type > PE/VC under Investment/Advisory Firms. Click on Add Criteria.
  3. Select Business Descriptions under Company Details.
  4. Enter "socially conscious" OR "socially responsible" OR "socially friendly" in the Search for: box.
  5. Select both the Business Description and Long Business Description boxes. Click on Add Criteria.
  6. Add any other criteria and click on View Results.

In PitchBook

  1. Go to Advanced Search and choose, Investors & Buyers
  2. From Investors & Buyers menu choose, All funds
  3. Under Deal Criteria, look for Industries, Verticals & Keywords and click on search box to open menu
  4. From menu click on + sign to expand industries & verticals.
  5. From verticals menu select: Impact investing or LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) and hit "search".
