Mergers & Acquisitions: deal attitude

How can I find deals with specific attitudes, such as hostile?


A.

LSEG Workspace

  1. Click on the Search Tools tab and select M&A.
  2. Under the Quick Filters section, start typing Deal Attitude in the Add Filter text box and select it to add it to the list of criteria.
  3. Select desired type(s), e.g., Friendly, Hostile, and click Done to view results.
  4. Add in additional criteria as desired and results will immediately populate.

Capital IQ

  1. Go the the Screening tab, select Transactions.
  2. Under M&A Details select Deal Attitude.    
  3. Select desired attitude and click Add Criteria.
  4. Add additional criteria, if desired.
  5. Click View Results.

SDC

  1. From the Database Selection window Mergers & Acquisitions tab, select U.S. Targets and/or Non-U.S. Target, and click OK.
  2. Select a preset or custom date and click OK.
  3. From the Deal tab, scroll down and double-click on Deal Attitude.
  4. Select desired type(s) and click OK.
  5. Click Close and continue with the rest of the search.
