Q.
Business culture

Where can I find out about cultural differences relating to international business?

A.
  • CultureGrams World Edition: Contains primary-source reports on 209 countries and territories—including every United Nations member state—focusing on 25 cultural categories, including language, personal appearance, greetings, visiting, family, life cycle and more.
  • Expatexchange: An on-line community for English-speaking expatriates. Includes country guides -- a collection of articles about each location.
  • U.S. Library of Congress Country Studies:  These old reports could be helpful for deeper historical background.  For each country, look for a chapter covering the economy.
  • Use article databases such as Business Source Complete and/or ABI/Proquest to search for articles with the subject heading cultural differences.
