Index constituents

Where can I find constituent lists and data for the S&P and other indices?

Current list

Bloomberg

  1. For a list of current index securities type EQS and hit GO. Screen by index.
  2. After selecting index, click View Results.
  3. On the subsequent screen, adjust the As Of date field as needed to pull constituents for a particular point in time.

Capital IQ (S&P 500 only)

  1. Search for S&P 500
  2. Choose constituents from left-hand menu
  3. Export to Excel

 

Historical Lists (not comprehensive, but includes the S&P indices and others)

Global Financial Data

  1. Choose Constituent Membership from the left-hand menu
  2. From Choose a category, select Major U.S Indices
  3. From Choose an index, select  your index
  4. For historical lists, select current membership and then as of specific date
