Where do I find information on mergers and acquisitions?

  • SDC Platinum, a dedicated terminal database product available in the Financial Databases Room, has the longest backfile of deals.

  • Use Capital IQ to browse recent deals or search for transactions:

    • Browse: Mouse over the Markets tab and select an industry. Scroll down to browse recent transactions.

    • Search: Mouse over the Screening tab. Select Transactions to perform a search.

  • Use Thomson ONE to browse recent deals or search for transactions. On the left menu bar click on Screening & Analysis.  Expand Deals & League Tables and click on M&A.  Browse in the Search Library or use Quick Search or Advanced Search.

  • Use FactSet to create lists of deals. At the top of the main search page, hover over the Screening tab. Select Idea Screening from the dropdown menu. Select General M&A and create list based on available criteria. Please note: account registration required.
