Private investments in public equity
How can I generate a list of private investments in public equity (PIPEs)?


In Thomson ONE:

  1. Click on Screening & Analysis.
  2. Click on Private Equity.
  3. Click PE Investments.
  4. Click on Search Investments. 
  5. In the Investment Details section, click on the magnifying glass icon next to Investment Stage.
  6. Click on Other to expand and then select PIPE .
  7. Add additional criteria, if desired. Be sure to indicate the Report Type.
  8. Scroll down and click on Generate Report at the bottom of the screen to run the search.

In Preqin:

  1. Click on the Private Equity tab
  2. Select Venture Deals.
  3. Click on Advanced Search.
  4. In Search By section select Portfolio Company.
  5. Under Deal Specifics go to Stage and select PIPE.
  6. Add additional criteria, if desired.
  7. Scroll down and click on Search at the bottom of the screen to run the search.

In Capital IQ

  1. Go the the Screening tab, select Transactions.
  2. Under General Transaction Details select Primary Features.
  3. Select Private Placement - PIPE and click Add Criteria.
  4. Add additional criteria, if desired.
  5. Click View Results.
