Private investments in public equity

How can I generate a list of private investments in public equity (PIPEs)?


A.

In LSEG Workspace:

  1. Click on the Search Tools tab and select Private Equity/VC.
  2. Choose a Deal Type and Investment Date from the left hand menu.
  3. Under the Quick Filters section, click Add next to Investment Stage and select PIPE. Click Done to add to search. 
  4. Add other criteria as desired.

In Preqin:

  1. Click on Search For.
  2. Select Company & Deals.
  3. Click on Buyout.
  4. Click on Deal Type and select PIPE
  5. Add additional criteria, if desired.
  6. Click on Export in the upper right corner to download results.

In Capital IQ

  1. Go the Screening tab, select Transactions.
  2. Under General Transaction Details select Primary Features.
  3. Select Private Placement - PIPE and click Add Criteria.
  4. Add additional criteria, if desired.
  5. Click View Results.

In PitchBook

  1. Go to Advanced Search and choose Investors & Buyers
  2. Go to Deal Types and from "Other Private Equity Types" choose PIPE
  3. Add any remaining criteria and hit "search'
