Q.
Bloomberg: hedge funds
How do I screen for or find performance and rankings of hedge funds in Bloomberg?

A.

Type HFND <GO> for an overview of Bloomberg's Hedge Fund Database.

Type FPC <GO> for the Fund Performance Rankings. Click the magnifying glass icons to make your selections for country, fund type, issuer, etc. Click Modify Criteria to select filters to be removed.

To search for funds type FSRC <GO> then follow these steps:

  1. Click on the amber links to add your criteria.
  2. You will see your selected criteria and the number of matches appearing at the bottom of the screen.
  3. When you are happy with your number of matches, click 1) Results to see the list.
  4. With the Actions drop down you can edit the display or edit the criteria to return to the screen builder page.
  5. Drag your mouse over the entire table to copy the data and then open Excel and paste as plain text.
