Q.
Bloomberg: futures

How can I locate futures information in Bloomberg?

A.
  1. Use Bloomberg for access to futures information.
  2. Type CTM and hit GO for the Contract Table menu.
  3. For stock index futures click the radio button next to Exchange.
  4. Select the exchange and then search for the index of interest: e.g., select SPA Index S&P 500 traded on the CME.
  5. Click on your index and select CT Contract Table to proceed to list of open futures contracts.
  6. The Contract Table lists the S&P 500 index itself (SPX) and currently active and prospective futures contracts for the index.
  7. For a contract description right click and select DES.

You can also type in SECF <GO> to use the Security Finder. Use the Category drop down to limit to 'Equities', the Sub-Category to 'Equity Future', and then search by keyword(s). Click on an index and select CT Contract Futures Table from the menu.
