Mutual Funds: Fees
Where do I find the fee structure of a mutual fund?
A.
- Morningstar Principia: has data on mutual funds including fee structure. (Note: There is a 100 record download limit.)
- Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) in WRDS: has historical data on mutual fund prices and fees.
- In WRDS, go to CRSP > Quarterly update > Mutual Funds > Fund Summary.
- Set date range and enter mutual fund codes (use code lookup or upload an existing file).
- Query variables select, 12b-1 Fee, Maximum 12b-1 Fee, Management Fee
- Add any other descriptive information.
- Select output.
- See the fund family's home page to view its prospectus.
