Q.
Mutual Funds: Fees

Where do I find the fee structure of a mutual fund?

A.
  • Morningstar Principia: has data on mutual funds including fee structure. (Note: There is a 100 record download limit.)
  1. In WRDS, go to CRSP > Quarterly update >  Mutual Funds > Fund Summary.
  2. Set date range and enter mutual fund codes (use code lookup or upload an existing file).
  3. Query variables  select, 12b-1 Fee, Maximum 12b-1 Fee, Management Fee
  4. Add any other descriptive information.
  5. Select output.
  • See the fund family's home page to view its prospectus.
