Creating Company Lists/Contact Lists for Alumni

This is a list of resources for alumni looking to create a list of companies or a list of contacts.

There are several databases that alumni may use to create company lists/contact lists. Make sure you are logged in to the Baker Library website (upper, right hand corner of the page) using your HBS email and password before navigating to the databases listed below.

D&B Hoovers: Hover over the 'Search & Build a List' tab and select either 'Companies' or 'Contacts'. Input your search criteria using the filters provided and click 'View Results' at the top of the page when finished. You can download your results to Excel. 

Mergent Intellect: Scroll down the page and select 'Advanced Search'. Select either the 'Company Criteria' or 'Executive Criteria' tab and then make your criteria selections. Scroll down and click 'Search' to see results. On the results page you will see an overview of the results as well as a list of the individual companies or people found. The list can be exported to Excel. 

 

*Please note, if you are in job search mode, and working with a career coach in CPD, we can facilitate a company/contact search using Capital IQ's screening tool. It can often be helpful to work with a librarian over Zoom, or in person, on the screening together. To do so, request a consultation with a librarian.
