Q.
Biotech, Medical Devices, and Pharmaceuticals: Business and Management focused topics

Where can I find articles on business & management focused topics in the industries of biotech, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals?

A.

Topics such as IP strategies, commercialization process, manufacturing process, start-up business model, etc.  We suggest you begin with:

  • ABI/ProQuest - articles from academic and industry publications that covers all aspects of business and management topics, including some company SWOT analysis and quarterly industry profiles.
  • ScienceDirect - articles mainly from academic publications. Topics including commercialization, strategy, operations and logistics, technologies, etc. within/related to all three industries.
  • Hollis Catalog - search for articles, books and particular journals. Tip: type keywords in the search box and select Everything. Use the filter on the right column of search result page to refine the search.
  • Google Scholar -  provides academic publications. It covers the open-access content portion of multiple databases available in our collections, such as JSTOR,  Wiley Online, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, etc. It is a good place to begin a research. Tip: for some articles that are not open-accessed, please pay attention to the instruction on the linked webpage to find out about how to connect Google Scholar to your Harvard Library access.
