In short, increasing number of companies realize the value of patent information. They use the information both internally and externally, to assess their own IP portfolio, inform the alignment of their IP strategy with their business goals, and monitor the competitive landscape.

Patent research is a data-driven analysis.  The analytical results can bring up insights for decision-makers in all areas of an organization.
