Why complete certification? Having certification may be a benefit in a finance job search.
Requirements: 4 core courses plus 1 market sector. Complete at your own pace.
- Complete courses at a Bloomberg Academic or Bloomberg Professional terminal using your Bloomberg login. See how to create your own Bloomberg login.
Note: Some functionality (e.g., Excel API) is available only on Bloomberg Professional. - Don't want to take certification exams? You don't have to. Watch the training videos without creating your own Bloomberg login.
Bloomberg Essentials: Type BESS then hit GO for more details to watch the training videos. Taking Exams (If you don't want a certificate take only the exams you want to.):
- At the end of each training video a code is provided.
- To take an exam, hit the HELP key twice. Indicate the course number and associated code and request to be enabled for the exam.
Obtaining Certificate:
- Hit the HELP key twice. Indicate you have completed the required exams.
- It takes approximately one week to process a request once it is received.
- The certificate is a PDF file that is emailed.
